Vigor

 Lord,

Would You give my friends vigor? Help us run the race of endurance well, fixing our eyes on the Savior. 

You God! IT'S YOU. 

Would we strain, press on, and give today everything we have. 

Help us run on empty today. Let every bone in our body groan and ache as we take captive of every thought and action.

Let us run in a manner that is worthy and pleasing to You, drawing on You for strength in every step. 

Fasten Your Word on our hearts and flavor every thought with You. We cry out to you Lord, with every breath.

Hear us, O God! That good good Grace surely wouldn't save sinners like us? But surely You do, despite our best efforts to run away from You. 

You turn our course, You turn our hearts. So we run to you.

The great race today begins. But we have something deep within ourselves. The fire and vigor of God himself rages through us. 

And when we run with God guiding and powering every step, the gates of Hell shutter in our wake. 

Victory in Christ! The grave has been defeated!

God, Help us run, knowing that the victory has already been won.

May we run with vigor, today, tomorrow, and forever.
