Psalms For Psalms- Day 60

Psalms 60- Tend To My Ever Wandering Heart

The state of my soul is struggle

You have broken our defenses

Making the earth quake

Shaking our senses

But You have given us a banner

A sing of Your love walking with us

When we wage war against evil

We walk confidently with Jesus

Who will lead me to my enemies?

To strike them down

God we need Your guidance

Without You, we will drown

Reconcile our hearts to You Father

Bring us close to You today

Tend to my ever wandering heart

Deliver us when life seems gray

Psalms For Psalms- Day 59

Psalms 59- My Refuge and Delight

Protect me from my enemies
Shelter me from the storm
Deliver me from evil men
Take me somewhere safe and warm

Like a hunter waiting for it’s prey
So do men lie in wait for me
Wishing to take my life
Awake, God, come and see!

God of Israel, Lord of Hosts
Rise to punish evil men
The ones with swords in their lips
Who have fallen prey to sin

My Strength and my Fortress
Protect my life today
You meet with me steadfast love
To You God I pray

Remind Your people of Your triumph
So all people can take heed
Lest people forget
Of all of Your great deeds!

I will sing to in the morning
I will praise you at night
For You are my song
My refuge and delight!

Psalms For Psalms- Day 58

Psalms 58- Trusting You’ll See Us Through

Sinners speak like serpents

The wicked are estranged from the womb

They go astray speaking lies

Destructively building their own tomb

Break the teeth of their mouths God

Let them vanish away like water

Give them blunted arrows

So their weapons cannot slaughter

Vanquish the enemy God

Wickedness they aren’t lacking

Fill their hearts with anguish

Send them home packing

We will rejoice when victory comes

It always does with You

Help us steady the course in the meantime

Trusting You’ll see us through

Psalms 57- The Sweetest of Graces

“How precious did that grace appear, the hour I first believed”

Do we take into account the sweetness of God’s precious Grace? Do we cherish it like our most prized possession?

God’s gift of grace is worth more than anything in this world, yet we take grace for granted. We go about our day, not holding dear the most meaningful blessing on this earth.

May we sit in Grace today and be reminded of the wonderful sweetness that comes from God, in the midst of all our sin.

Psalms 57- The Sweetest of Graces

There are storms of destruction

Tearing at my heart

Sin gnawing at my soul

Ripping me apart

God, You are a schemer of mercy

Showering me with Grace

Hiding me from the storms of life

Until I am in a better place

You send out steadfast love and faithfulness

More surer than the morning

While I lie among the lions

You send my enemies mourning

Be exalted Lord, above the heavens!

Let Your Glory shine among all places

I will sing and give praises to You

For Jesus has given us the sweetest of graces!

Psalms For Psalms- Day 56

A Father's love is deeper than anything in the world.

But how much deeper is Our Father in heaven's love for us

Undeserved, yet so deep. God, thank you for loving us.

May we run to You father in all things.

Psalms 56- With Every Single Breath

Children trust their fathers blindly
Running fast into his arms
Knowing hey are safe and sound
He will keep them from any harm

In that same vein
I am but Your child Lord
May I run quickly to You
Away from the horde

You count my tossings
Put my tears in Your book
You are for me God
My enemies You have shook

With You, my feet never fail
You deliver my soul from death
Help me run to You my Father
With every single breath

Psalms For Psalms- Day 55

Psalms 55- From Now Until I’m Old

In the solitude of my space

In quiet of my heart

I come to You in prayer

And then my day can start

What a blessing Your ears are

That You hear my prayer

In every little moment

God You are there

My soul is in anguish

I am restless, uneasy, quick to moan

Death tolls out it’s calling

My heart continues to groan

Oh how I wish I could fly

And get out of this place

Help me find shelter

I need refuge and a peaceful place

Why are men so destructive?

The ones I used to call friend

We would walk with God together

Their counsel they would lend

I cannot trust in man today

On The Rock I do take hold

Be my lasting Ebenezer Lord

From now until I’m old

Psalms For Psalms- Day 54

Psalms 54- Face To Face

Your name is like no other

You calm the waters

Stretch the sea

Saving broken men like me

In the dawn of the morning

I lift my hands in prayer

God You hear me

Lifting me out of despair

For men who set idols over God

Have rallied to take my life

My heart trembles Father

These men have caused me strife

But Behold, as God as my Helper

Who do I have to fear?

You destroy evil

And everything they hold dear

I give thanks to You God

The battle over evil is won

You conquered sin and death

By sending Your only Son

Who am I but a lowly man?

How do I deserve this Grace?

Oh to gaze at You Jesus

And thank You face to face!

Psalms For Psalms- Day 53

Psalms 53- In The Days of Their Youth

Is there anyone who trusts in God?
All I can can see are fools
Who claim there is no God
Following their own rules

God looks from heaven
At the children of man
To see if anyone trusts
Or follows His plan

Yet, all have fallen away
Running from Your truth
Choosing their own way
In the days of their youth

God, restore the fortunes of Your people
Bring us from this sadness
Turn our weeping into dancing
Give Israel hearts of gladness

Psalms For Psalms- Day 52

Simple truths this morning.

Evil prevails temporarily

But God is the victor in the end

Trust in His Goodness

Wait on His Holy name.

Psalms 52- Wait On Your Name

The mightiest man may boast of evil

He is a worker of deceit

Lying more than speaking what’s true

Does he know God can’t be beat?

Evil men love words that devour

Their hearts have deceitful bent

God uproots them from the land of living

Plucking them from their tent

When we trust in our own riches

Things may go our way

But eventually wealth fades

Leaving us with nothing to say

But I trust in You God

Giving You all the glory and fame

Your steadfast love is forever

May we always wait on Your name

Psalms For Psalms- Day 51

Lust makes you feel sick in the insides and out.

A throbbing pain that leaves you contemplating everything in life

A grossness that sticks on your body, heart and soul.

I can imagine very clearly how David felt after committing lustful sin with Bathsheba. Why? Because I too have struggled with lust through the years.

His prayer becomes so much more meaningful and impactful when you understand the weight of sin and the heaviness of lust on a man’s heart.

Lord, would You wash us all from our iniquities and cleanse our hearts with Your severe mercy and grace.

Psalms 51- Give My Heart To Thee

In man’s darkest moments

God knows our way

Not as a sinner

But His child who wandered away

Our sins are ever before You

We have done evil in your sight

Wash me thoroughly God

Cleanse me and show me what is right

You delight in truth

From the inward being

Wisdom in the secret heart

Is the only thing worth seeing

Wash me whiter than snow

Let me hear joy and gladness

Take these broken bones

And remove my sadness

Create in me a clean heart

Renew a right spirit in me

Restore the joy of my salvation

Giving my heart to Thee

Psalms For Psalms- Day 50

Psalms 50- Sit By Aslan’s Mane

You spoke the earth from nothing

You made the sun to rise

You told the evening sun to set

You created the heavens and skies

Out of Zion you shine forth

Like a beaming beacon of light

You are not silent Lord

You are a God of might

The heavens declare Your righteousness

Your works proclaim Your name

May all people gather to You

And sit by Aslan’s mane

I was desolate, wicked

beyond all repair

A wanderer without future

Yet You heard my prayer

When we call on You, You answer

Like a Father gathering up his child

You do not rebuke us harshly

But love us, tender and mild

Let us make thanksgiving and praise You

Your name we forever praise

Jesus, we love You today and always

To You our hearts do pray
