Psalms 69- Ransom My Soul

Like a swimmer caught in a riptide

So my heart feels under water

When my arms have no strength 

You save me from impending slaughter

Like a hawk scanning the horizon

God sees everything we have done

My sins are not hidden from You

Not a single one

I’ve got nothing on my own

So guide me Lord

Answer me according to Your steadfast love

Protect me from the horde

Draw near to me Father

Ransom my soul

Redeem the lost lamb

I am simply a wandering foal

Humble my heart Lord

Help me survive 

I come to You with thanksgiving

In You my soul is revived

Psalms 72- Prayers For My Children

Like David beseeching Christ

So I come humbly to You Lord

Asking for Your mercy

For grace to enter my chords

I have nothing but You Father

You are the only one I seek

I give today to You Jesus 

For I am lowly and meek

Earnestly I pray for righteousness

May my kids know Your name

But deeper than knowledge

Would Christ be all they claim

Stir in their hearts 

A flame that will never go out

Give them confidence in You

Jesus would they never have a doubt

May the Kingdom of God flourish

More vibrantly than spring flowers

That Your name would endure forever 

Longer than summer showers

Surely You have done wondrous things

To save a sinner like me

God may Your name be blessed forever 

May my kids sing praises of Thee!

Psalms For Psalms- Day 68

Psalms 68- I Hold Fast to Thee

Like a woodpecker to a tree

So I come to You again and again

Knocking on Your door

Asking You to keep me from sin 

I run but my legs get tired 

I lift but my hands get weak

Rescue me Father

You are all I seek 

Day after day, is this all there is?

I get tired of chasing things

God help me find life and joy 

That only You can bring 

You are the God of my youth

The One that brings me peace 

Even in my older years 

Resting in You, my worries are ceased

On earth, my troubles seem many

But You promise more than we can see

An eternal weight of glory 

Precious Jesus I hold fast to Thee!

Psalms For Psalms- Day 67

Psalms 67- Grace Here To Stay

God’s promises last longer than an hour
His blessings carry on for days
He always keeps His Word
And for that, we sing You praise!

May the Lord bless You, and keep you
We have often heard
I pray it would sink in deeper
That your heart would be stirred

God’s truth is more than hopeful guidance
Or another good way
When we trust in God
His Grace is here to stay

Psalms 66- Remember God All Of Your Days

Who is this God?

That the nations bow before Him

The whole world earth sings His praises

Raising our voices in hymns

Who is this God?

The one who turns sea into land

So we could pass through 

Mighty are the works of His hand 

Who is this God?

Who does not let our feet slip 

When we ourselves wanted to drift

On our souls He has a firm grip

Though life can feel like a fire

Often burning our hearts

You bring us to abundance

Though we quickly forget Your part

So today, we exalt You

And raise our hands in praise 

Into the House of God

Remembering You all of our days

Psalms 65- Thank You God For All Creation!

From first glance 

I saw you from afar

An angry God in Zion

Before I knew who You are

But once I got to know You

And dwelled in Your place 

I’ve been satisfied forever 

Just gazing at Your face

Your deeds are awesome

They extend to the ends of the earth

Surpassing all the seas

Displaying Your great worth

Mountains shout Your praises

The seas roar about Your Might

waves cascade Your Glory

I am in awe of You both day and night 

Everything You do enriches our lives 

From earth to sky to sea

Thank You God for all creation!

We give praise to Thee!

Psalms 64- Godly Wrath

The enemy chases me endlessly

But my heart is not fleet of foot

Hide me from the throng of evil 

Away from the dangerous staying put

For they hold fast to an evil purpose 

Stay true to an evil thing 

Searching out injustice 

Putting rocks in their sling 

But you God fire arrows 

And You never miss your mark

Putting the fear of man

To wander in the dark

May we ever rejoice in You

Taking refuge in Your path

We exult You God

Thanking You for Godly wrath

Psalms For Psalms- Day 63

Psalms 63- To Earnestly Seek You

When the day is still

Earnestly I will seek You

When the night turns black

I will seek You

When I have no strength

Earnestly I will seek You

When my body cries out

Earnestly I will seek You

When I look upon You in the sanctuary

Earnestly I will seek You

When I remember of Your steadfast love 

Earnestly I will seek You

When I lay down my head 

Earnestly I will seek You

When I meditate on Your Word

Earnestly I will seek You

When crooked men try to destroy me

Earnestly I will seek You

When evil has been vanquished

Earnestly I will seek You

When my days are at their last

When my breath is soon to fade

I’ll proclaim to the world my dying wish:

Psalms For Psalms- Day 62

I love seeing kids joy watching through the window. They are expectant, full of hope, life, and excitement.

When a father comes in the door after a long day of work, my kids come rushing up to greet me, arms fully stretched out, leaping into my arms. "Daddy's home!!!"

Are we expectant for God for show up in our lives each day? Do we wait on Him in confidence knowing that He is our Refuge and Strength.

Our Father in Heaven can do a lot more than a dad can play with his kids. Christ is our Savior, Satisfaction, and everything we could want and hope in this life.

Do we trust Him? Do we count on His faithfulness every day?

I pray that we would.

Psalms 62- Faithful From The Start

Like a toddler watching the window

My soul waits expectantly for God

He is my rock and salvation

Into His arms I gleefully trod

I have been battered and bruised 

Toppled like a tower

Hurt by evil men 

Who rain down curses like a shower  

But God alone is who I wait for

My only hope comes from Him

For God has surely saved us 

He does not act on a whim 

Trust in Him, Trust in Him! 

Sing these words to your heart

Pour out your soul before the Lord

He has been ever faithful from the start

Psalms 61- Christ You are My King

Would You hear my cries God?

Listen to my prayers

I know You are with us

In the silence you are there

When my heart is faint

You go to great lengths

To Lead me to the rock

So I can rest in Your strength 

May I dwell with You Forever

My refuge, strength, and song

In the shelter of your wings

I’ll stay all day long 

When I was lost, You found me

Gave my heart something to sing

Gave me a name to be proud of

Christ You are my King!
